Camelback Ranch Upgrades

Everyone knows that if you want to watch a Dodgers Spring Training game, you do it at home at Camelback Ranch. This year, fans will notice some upgrades and enhancements to the ballpark. These enhancements are going to highlight the Dodgers history that so many are proud of. They will also enhance the experience of the park.

One enhancement is the Tommy Lasorda bobblehead. Yes, the Tommy Lasorda bobblehead from the right field pavilion has made its way to Camelback Ranch! It will stay in Glendale throughout Spring Training and then be returned back to Dodgers Stadium for the 2015 season. This is so cute. The bobbleheads have seemed to become iconic in their short time with the Dodgers.

There will also be ten All Star panels that line Legends Walk, along the dividing lake. Some included All Stars are Tommy Lasorda, Mike Piazza, Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese. Along Legends Walk will also be three foot in diameter baseballs that highlight all of the Dodgers MVPs. Some are Roy Campanella, Sandy Koufax, Steve Garvey and, of course, Clayton Kershaw.

Another enhacement will be the addition of retired baseball numbers from both the Dodgers and the White Sox. These will be similar to the ones at Dodgers Stadium. It's always nice to see the retired numbers hanging around.

There will also be some new foods added to concessions. Some of these items will be an 18 inch slice of pizza, bacon-on-a-stick (I'm not kidding), and frozen yogurt. New food is always welcome at baseball games. Many of these new items will be a definite hit with the fans.

These new upgrades sound like they are trying to bring Dodgertown to Arizona, which is wonderful! I think it's great to make the fans feel at home. Although there are many Arizona Dodgers fans, many do travel from Los Angeles to see the Dodgers. Although Camelback Ranch isn't the Dodgers official home, it is "home" for a month and now that the Dodgers are treating it more like a home the fans will definitely have a better experience.

Who's Your MVP?

Did you see the new billboard on the block? The Dodgers and Angels unveiled a new billboard to promote the freeway series April 2-4!
With both Mike Trout and Clayton Kershaw winning the AL and NL MVP awards, respectively, the two teams took advantage of the grand marketing opportunity! It looks wonderful and is a fun way to promote the series. Both men are dominant on their respective teams and this billboard highlights that.

The billboard is located at Highland and Wilshire and is the only one, sadly. If you see it, make sure to snap a picture of it!

So is your MVP red or blue?

Kenley Jansen is Out

Today the Dodgers announced that Kenley Jansen underwent surgery to remove a growth from bone in his left foot. His recovery time is estimated to be 8-12 weeks. This mean that, if all goes according to plan, Jansen will be back in action by late-April to mid-May.

With Spring Training beginning in just two days, the Dodgers now need to find a comparable closer to replace Jansen while he recovers. The Dodgers don't have many options currently on the roster while there are still some candidates still on the market. Should the Dodgers look in house for a replacement or spend the cash?

With Jansen being sidelined, this brings back an all too familiar feeling with fans. The Dodgers always seemed to be plagued with injuries every season; this season seems to be starting out just the same. However with a revamped front office and team, many are still hopeful about what the Dodgers can accomplish.

The time has come, the season is about to begin!
