Everyone knows that if you want to watch a Dodgers Spring Training game, you do it at home at Camelback Ranch. This year, fans will notice some upgrades and enhancements to the ballpark. These enhancements are going to highlight the Dodgers history that so many are proud of. They will also enhance the experience of the park.
One enhancement is the Tommy Lasorda bobblehead. Yes, the Tommy Lasorda bobblehead from the right field pavilion has made its way to Camelback Ranch! It will stay in Glendale throughout Spring Training and then be returned back to Dodgers Stadium for the 2015 season. This is so cute. The bobbleheads have seemed to become iconic in their short time with the Dodgers.
There will also be ten All Star panels that line Legends Walk, along the dividing lake. Some included All Stars are Tommy Lasorda, Mike Piazza, Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese. Along Legends Walk will also be three foot in diameter baseballs that highlight all of the Dodgers MVPs. Some are Roy Campanella, Sandy Koufax, Steve Garvey and, of course, Clayton Kershaw.
Another enhacement will be the addition of retired baseball numbers from both the Dodgers and the White Sox. These will be similar to the ones at Dodgers Stadium. It's always nice to see the retired numbers hanging around.
There will also be some new foods added to concessions. Some of these items will be an 18 inch slice of pizza, bacon-on-a-stick (I'm not kidding), and frozen yogurt. New food is always welcome at baseball games. Many of these new items will be a definite hit with the fans.
These new upgrades sound like they are trying to bring Dodgertown to Arizona, which is wonderful! I think it's great to make the fans feel at home. Although there are many Arizona Dodgers fans, many do travel from Los Angeles to see the Dodgers. Although Camelback Ranch isn't the Dodgers official home, it is "home" for a month and now that the Dodgers are treating it more like a home the fans will definitely have a better experience.
