Series Recap: San Diego Padres 4/24 - 4/26

First of all, I want to apologize for my long absence. I'm wrapping up my second semester of sophomore year and this blog fell through the cracks.

This weekend the Dodgers were out in San Diego to face the Padres.

Friday | Win: Friday, the Dodgers won 3-0 after coming off of a sweep from the Giants. Greinke started and got the win while Yimi Garcia got his first recorded save! Offensively, the Dodgers did okay. Grandal had a double, Crawford hit a homerun and Uribe and Joc scored RBI's. However, they were really the only ones who did anything of major value for the offense. The Dodgers left 6 men on base and that is always something the Dodgers struggle with.

Defensively, Greinke pitched seven innings, gave up zero runs, four hits, three walks and struck out seven. Also, Gonzalez, Rollins, and Greinke performed a 3-6-1 double play in the seventh inning.

Also, Juan Uribe came out on the field in the wrong Dodgers jersey!

Saturday | Win: Saturday, the Dodgers won 11-8 and this game was definitely the most exciting of the series! Offensively, the team was on fire; just about every position player got at least one hit. Gonzalez, Crawford, Ethier and Grandal all had a double while Gonzalez, Ethier, Kendrick, and Uribe had homeruns. Although the team left 7 men on base, we were still able to pull of the win.

Defensively, McCarthy started for the Dodgers and pitched five innings before calling a trainer over to take him out. He gave up six runs in his five inning but also struck out four, walked one and gave up three homeruns.

Also, former Dodger Matt Kemp was ejected in the 8th inning for arguing balls and strikes.

Sunday | Loss: Sunday, the Dodgers lost 3-1 after Saturday's offense fest. This game was another quiet game for the Dodgers offense. The only big hit was from Alex Guerrero in the fifth inning. Today, only three men were left on base but not many got on to begin with.

Defensively, Guerrero made a stellar diving stop at third base in the bottom of the second inning. Baker started the game and took the loss. He pitched seven innings and gave up the three runs. He also had six strikeouts, two walks and gave up two homeruns.

The Dodgers next series is against the Giants at home! Let's go Dodgers!
