Series Recap: Milwaukee Brewers 5/4 - 5/7


The Dodgers split this series with the Milwaukee Brewers down the middle, 2-2. When they won, they ran away with it but when they lost it was somewhat to pretty close. Here's how it turned out.

Record | 18-10

Monday | Loss: On Monday the Dodgers lost 4-3 after leading the Brewers up until the 8th inning. Offensively, Yasmani Grandal was hot. Grandal had a double and two singles. Joc Pederson also hit a homerun in this game and Adrian Gonzalez was hit by a pitch. Joc Pederson, Yasmani Grandal and Juan Uribe all had RBI's in this game and the Dodgers left nine men on base.

Defensively, the Dodgers had one error, Kershaw made an error trying to pick off a runner. Kershaw pitched 7.1 innings, gave up three runs, five hits, one home run, and struck out eight. Chris Hatcher came in for relief, gave up the fourth run and was charged with the loss.

Tuesday | Win: The Dodgers beat the Brewers 8-2 and Zack Greinke is still undefeated! Offensively, the Dodgers did very well. Yasmani Grandal and Zack Greinke both had doubles while Justin Turner, Jimmy Rollins, and Adrian Gonzalez each hit a homerun. Justin Tunrner, Jimmy Rollins, and Adrian Gonzalez al had RBI's as well. The Dodgers left seven men on base.

Defensively, the Dodgers had only one error and a double play. Joc Pederson had a fielding error while the team also turned a 5-4-3 double play. Greinke pitched 7.2 innings and gave up one run, two hits, two walks and struck out seven. Pedro Baez came in to pitch the last out of the 8th and didn't give up anything. Daniel Coulumbe closed the ninth and gave up one run, one hit and one walk.

Wednesday | Loss: The Dodgers lost to the Brewers 6-3, after the Brewers scored five runs in the first inning. Offensively, the Dodgers didn't do the best. Adrian Gonzalez hit a double and Joc Pederson hit another homerun! Joc Pederson was the only Dodger to hit an RBI and the team left four men on base throughout the game. Also, Scott Van Slyke grounded into a double play.

Defensively, the Dodgers did well, there were no errors but the Brewers did score five runs in the first inning. Joe Wieland started for the Dodgers and pitched 4.2 innings. He gave up all six runs, six hits, two homeruns, four walks and struck out two batters. He was charged with the loss.

Thursday | Win: The Dodgers beat the Brewers 14-4. Offensively, the Dodgers were on fire. Kike Hernandez hit a double, Andre Ethier hit a triple, and Alex Guerrero and Yasmani Grandal both hit a homerun; Grandal hit two! Alex Guerrero, Andre Ethier, Adrian Gonzalez, Yasmani Grandal, and Joc pederson all had RBI's; Yasmani Grandal and Joc Pederson both had two-out RBI's. Adrian Gonzalez and Kike Hernandez also grounded into double plays. Also, the Dodgers left eight men on base.

Defensively, the Dodgers did very well. There were no errors and they held the Brewers to four runs. Carlos Frias started for the Dodgers, pitched four innings, gave up three runs, six hits, one homerun, one walk and struck out six batters.

The Dodgers next series is against the Colorado Rockies in Colorado.
