Series Recap: New York Mets 7/3 - 7/5


The Dodgers drop two of three to the Mets in their opening homestand series.

Record | 46-37

Friday | Loss: The Dodgers lost to the Mets 2-1. Offensively, the team didn't do the best. Justin Turner had a double while Adrian Gonzalez had a homerun and the only RBI. Howie Kendrick had a stolen base and the team left five men on base.

Defensively, the team did alright. Clayton Kershaw started the game and pitched seven innings. He gave up one run, five hits, two walks, and struck out seven batters. Kenley Jansen pitched the ninth inning and gave up the winning run; he was charged with the loss.

Saturday | Win: The Dodgers beat the Mets 4-3. Offensively, the team did pretty well. Yasiel Puig and Yasmani Grandal had doubles while Adrian Gonzalez had a homerun. Adrian Gonzalez, Jimmy Rollins and Alberto Collaspo all had RBI's; Alberto Collaspo had a two-out RBI. Howie Kendrick had a stolen base, Adrian Gonzalez grounded into a double play and the team left eleven men on base.

Defensively, the team did pretty well. Zack Greinke started the game and pitched seven innings. He gave up only four hits and struck out four batters. He was awarded the win.

Sunday | Loss: The Dodgers lost to the Mets 8-0. Offensively, the team was quite. Scott Van Slyke stole second base and the team left six men on base.

Defensively, the Dodgers didn't do too hot either. Kike Hernandez had at shortstop. Mike Bolsinger started the game and pitched only five innings. He gave up four runs, nine hits, two walks and struck out four batters. He was charged with the loss.

The Dodgers next series is against the Philadelphia Phillies in Los Angeles.
