Series Recap: Miami Marlins 6/26 - 6/28


The Dodgers took two of three from the Miami Marlins over the weekend. Here's how it went!

Friday | Win: The Dodgers beat the Marlins 7-1. The Dodgers did very well in the first game of the series and the offense did great. Joc Pederson hit a double and Scott Van Slyke hit a homerun. Scott Van Slyke, Jimmy Rollins, Brett Anderson, Alex Guerrero, and Howie Kendrick all had RBI's; Brett Anderson, Alex Guerrero, and Howie Kendrick had two-out RBI's. Justin Turner grounded into a double play and the team left nine men on base.

Defensively, the team did well. Brett Anderson started the game and pitched seven innings; he also had a pick off. He allowed one run, five hits, one walk, and struck out ten batters. He was awarded the win.

Saturday | Loss: The Dodgers lost 3-2. The Dodgers tried to come back but fell short. The offense was quieter today. The only extra-base hit was a homerun by Justin Turner. Justin Turner and Adrian Gonzalez had RBI's; Justin Turner had a two-out RBI. Yasmani Grandal grounded into a double play and the team left three men on base.

Defensively, the team did okay. Andre Ethier had a throwing error while Joc Pederson had a fielding error; however the team did turn a 4-6-3 double play. Clayton Kershaw started the game and pitched seven innings. He gave up three runs, seven hits, and struck out nine batters. He was charged with the loss.

Sunday | Win: The Dodgers beat the Marlins 2-0. The offense did well enough to secure the win. Adrian Gonzalez had the only extra-base hit; a double. Howie Kendrick and Adrian Gonzalez had RBI's; Adrian Gonzalez had a two-out RBI. Zack Greinke hit a sacrifice bunt but Adrian Gonzalez grounded into a double play. The team left eleven men on base.

Defensively, the Dodgers did well. Zack Greinke started the game and pitched 7.2 innings. He gave up four hits and struck out six batters. He was awarded the win. Kenley Jansen pitched the ninth inning and recorded a save.

The Dodgers next series is against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Arizona.

Series Recap: San Francisco Giants 6/19 - 6/21


The Dodgers avoid a sweep, losing two of three in Los Angeles.

Friday | Loss: The Dodgers lost to the Giants 9-5. The offense did pretty well but the Dodgers just could not pull ahead against the Giants. Joc Pederson and Justin Turner both had doubles while Justin Turner also had a homerun. Yasmani Grandal, Justin Turner, Adrian Gonzalez, and Alberto Collaspo all had RBI's; Justin Turner and Alberto Collaspo had two-out RBI's. Howie Kendrick and Jimmy Rollins grounded into both double plays and the team left five men on base.

Defensively, the team did pretty well. The Dodgers turned two double plays; a 6-3 double play and a 3-6 double play! Mike Bolinger started the game and pitched 5.1 innings. He gave up five runs, eight hits, one homerun, three walks and struck out six batters. He was charged with the loss.

Saturday | Loss: The Dodgers lost 6-2. Offensively, the team didn't do too well; only scoring two runs. Yasiel Puig hit a double while Joc Pederson and Justin Turner both hit solo homeruns. Yasiel Puig, Joc Pederson, Justin Turner, Yasmani Grandal, and Adrian Gonzalez all had RBI's; Grandal had a two-out RBI. Brett Anderson also had a sacrifice bunt. The team left nine men on base.

Defensively, the Dodgers did very well.. Yasiel Puig had an outfield assist and the team turned two double plays. THose duble plays were a 3-6-3 double play and a 5-4-3 double play. Brett Anderson started the game and pitched six innings. He gave up one run, five hits, two walks, and struck out one batter. He was awarded the win.

Series Recap: Texas Rangers 6/15 - 6/18


The Dodgers lost three of four against the Rangers in a split-location series.

Monday (@ Rangers) | Loss: The Dodgers lost 4-1. Offensively, the team didn't do too well. Justin Turner had a homerun and Yasmani Grandal had a solo homerun; he also had the only RBI. Andre Ethier and Adrian Gonzalez grounded into double plays and Jimmy Rollins was caught stealing. The team left six men on base.

Defensively, the team did okay. Yasmani Grandal had a past ball but the team turned a 4-6-3 double play. Carlos Frias started the game and pitched 5.1 innings. He gave up four runs, five hits, three walks and struck out four batters. He was charged with the loss.

Tuesday (@ Rangers) | Loss: The Dodgers lost 3-2 to close the first half of this series. Offensively, the team was quite again with only Justin Turner scoring the two runs from a two-run homerun. The team left seven men on base.

Defensively, the team did well. The team turned two double plays; a 6-5-3 and a 5-4-3 double play. Brett Anderson started the game and pitched eight innings. He gave up two runs, eight hits, three walks, and struck out four. Josh Ravin pitched the ninth and gave up the winning run; he was charged with the loss.

Wednesday (@Dodgers) | Loss: The Dodgers lost to the Rangers 5-3. The offense was a bit louder but not enough to get the job done. Yasiel Puig, Scott Van Slyke, AJ Ellis, and Kike Hernandez all had doubles while Scott Van Slyke had a homerun. Scott Van Slyke and Alex Guerrero had RBI's and Clayton Kershaw had a sacrifice bunt. Thursday (@Dodgers) | Won: The Dodgers beat the Rangers 1-0 to avoid a sweep. Offensively, the team was very quiet with Yasiel Puig getting the only extra-base hit; a triple. Zack Greinke hit a sacrifice bunt but Alberto Collaspo grounded into a double play. The team left seven men on base.

Adrian Gonzalez, AJ Ellis, Justin Turner, and Alex Guerrero all had RBIs; all but Justin Turner had two-out RBI's. Clayton Kershaw had a sacrifice bunt and Adrian Gonzalez grounded into a double play. Joc Pederson was caught stealing and Justin Turner was picked off. The team left eight men on base.

Defensively, the team did okay. Justin Turner had a fielding error at third base. Clayton Kershaw started the game and pitched 6.2 innings. He gave up one run, four hits, one homerun, three walks. and struck out eleven batters. Yimi Garcia pitched the last out of the seventh inning and was awarded the win. Kenley Jansen pitched the ninth inning and recorded the save.

Saturday | Loss: The Dodgers lost 2-1. The offense was pretty quiet, with the only extra bases hit being a homerun from Yasmani Grandal. Yasmani Grandal also had the only RBI. Adrian Gonzalez grounded into two double plays and the team left three men on base.

Defensively, the team didn't do the best. Zack Greinke had a throwing error but the team turned a 6-4-3 double play. Zack Greinke started the game and pitched all eight innings. He gave up two runs, eight hits, one homerun, one walk and struck out seven batters. He was charged with the loss.

Sunday | Win (F/12): The Dodgers beat the Padres 4-2 in twelve innings. Offensively, the team did okay; there were many great hits but not many were capitalized on. Alberto Collaspo and Adrian Gonzalez had doubles while Andre Ethier hit a triple; Alberto Collaspo had two doubles. Andre Ethier also hit a homerun. Adrian Gonzalez and Andre Ethier had the RBI's of the game; Adrian Gonzalez's was a two-out RBI. Mike Bolsinger hit a sacrifice bunt and Adrian Gonzalez, Howie Kendrick and Yasmani Grandal all grounded into double plays. The team left nine men on base.

Defensively, the Dodgers did so-so. Kike Hernandez had a fielding error. Mike Bolsinger started the game and pitched 4.2 innings. Defensively, the team did pretty well. The Dodgers turned a 6-4-3 double play. Mike Bolsinger started the game and pitched seven innings. He gave up two runs, three hits, two walks and struck out eight batters. He was awarded the win.

Tuesday | Win: The Dodgers won 3-1 against the Diamondbacks. Offensively, the Dodgers more muted this game. Yasiel Puig hit a double and Howie Kendrick hit a homerun. Howie Kendrick also had the only RBI's; and they were two out RBI's. Howie Kendrick also grounded into a double play. The team left nine men on base.

Defensively, the team did pretty well. Carlos Frias started the game and pitched 6.2 innings. He gave up one run, three hits, one walks and struck out three batters. Adam Liberatore pitched the last out of the seventh inning and was awarded the win. Kenley Jansen pitched the ninth inning and recorded a save.

Defensively, the team didn't do too well. Justin Turner had a fielding error; but Andre Ethier had an outfield assist and Carlos Frias picked someone off. Carlos Frias started the game and pitched 6.2 innings. He gave up five runs, ten hits, three walks, and struck out three batters.

Defensively, the Dodgers did well. Yasmani Grandal had a past ball. Mike Bolinger started the game and pitched five innings. He gave up four runs, six hits, one homerun, three walks, and struck out three. He also balked. Yimi Garcia pitched the ninth inning, didn't record an out, and was charged with the loss.
