Series Recap: San Diego Padres 6/12 - 6/14


The Dodgers take two from the Padres this weekend! Here's how it went!

Record | 37-26

Friday | Win: The Dodgers beat the Padres 4-3. Offensively, the team did pretty well. Howie Kendrick had a double, the only extra-base hit of the game. Adrian Gonzalez, AJ Ellis, Justin Turner, and Alex Guerrero all had RBIs; all but Justin Turner had two-out RBI's. Clayton Kershaw had a sacrifice bunt and Adrian Gonzalez grounded into a double play. Joc Pederson was caught stealing and Justin Turner was picked off. The team left eight men on base.

Defensively, the team did okay. Justin Turner had a fielding error at third base. Clayton Kershaw started the game and pitched 6.2 innings. He gave up one run, four hits, one homerun, three walks. and struck out eleven batters. Yimi Garcia pitched the last out of the seventh inning and was awarded the win. Kenley Jansen pitched the ninth inning and recorded the save.

Saturday | Loss: The Dodgers lost 2-1. The offense was pretty quiet, with the only extra bases hit being a homerun from Yasmani Grandal. Yasmani Grandal also had the only RBI. Adrian Gonzalez grounded into two double plays and the team left three men on base.

Defensively, the team didn't do the best. Zack Greinke had a throwing error but the team turned a 6-4-3 double play. Zack Greinke started the game and pitched all eight innings. He gave up two runs, eight hits, one homerun, one walk and struck out seven batters. He was charged with the loss.

Sunday | Win (F/12): The Dodgers beat the Padres 4-2 in twelve innings. Offensively, the team did okay; there were many great hits but not many were capitalized on. Alberto Collaspo and Adrian Gonzalez had doubles while Andre Ethier hit a triple; Alberto Collaspo had two doubles. Andre Ethier also hit a homerun. Adrian Gonzalez and Andre Ethier had the RBI's of the game; Adrian Gonzalez's was a two-out RBI. Mike Bolsinger hit a sacrifice bunt and Adrian Gonzalez, Howie Kendrick and Yasmani Grandal all grounded into double plays. The team left nine men on base.

Defensively, the Dodgers did so-so. Kike Hernandez had a fielding error. Mike Bolsinger started the game and pitched 4.2 innings. He gave up two runs, six hits, three walks, and struck out seven batters. Josh Ravin pitched the tenth and eleventh innings and did very well; he was awarded the win. Kenley Jansen pitched the twelfth inning and recorded the save.

The Dodgers next series is a split series against the Texas Rangers with the first two games in Texas and the last two in Los Angeles.
