Series Recap: Arizona Diamondbacks 6/8 - 6/10
The Dodgers swept the Diamondbacks in their three game series! Here's how it went!
Record | 35-25
Monday | Win: The Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks 9-3. Offensively, the team did very well. Yasmani Grandal hit a double while Jimmy Rollins and Andre Ethier hit homeruns. Howie Kendrick, Alex Guerrero, Jimmy Rollins and Andre Ethier all had RBI's' Andre Ethier had a two-out RBI. The Dodgers left two men on base.
Defensively, the team did pretty well. The Dodgers turned a 6-4-3 double play. Mike Bolsinger started the game and pitched seven innings. He gave up two runs, three hits, two walks and struck out eight batters. He was awarded the win.
Tuesday | Win: The Dodgers won 3-1 against the Diamondbacks. Offensively, the Dodgers more muted this game. Yasiel Puig hit a double and Howie Kendrick hit a homerun. Howie Kendrick also had the only RBI's; and they were two out RBI's. Howie Kendrick also grounded into a double play. The team left nine men on base.
Defensively, the team did pretty well. Carlos Frias started the game and pitched 6.2 innings. He gave up one run, three hits, one walks and struck out three batters. Adam Liberatore pitched the last out of the seventh inning and was awarded the win. Kenley Jansen pitched the ninth inning and recorded a save.
Wednesday | Win: The Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks 7-6 in a down-to-the-last-inning game. The offense did pretty well. Yasiel Puig and Alberto Callaspo both had doubles while Yasiel Puig and Yasmani Grandal had homeruns. Brett Anderson, Yasiel Puig, Yasmani Grandal, Kike Hernandez, and Howie Kendrick all had RBI's; Puig had a two-out RBI. Brett Anderson and Jimmy Rollins had sacrifice bunts and Kike Hernandez had a sacrifice fly. The team left eight men on base.
Defensively, the Dodgers did okay. Howie Kendrick had a fielding error and Andre Ethier had a throwing error. Yasmani Grandal also had a past ball. However the team did turn a 6-3 double play. Brett Anderson started the game and pitched five innings. He gave up four runs, eight hits, two homeruns, one walk and struck out three batters. Jansen pitched the ninth inning, recorded a blown save but also was awarded the win.
The Dodgers next series is against the San Diego Padres in San Diego.
